As a big fan of Christmas, for me the excitement and preparation begins in October (yay the Christmas ads started today!). I spotted unpainted nutcrackers at Spotlight last week. I made a few adjustments and have done a slightly different take on the traditional nutcracker (it's not very Christmassy...)
I stuck newspaper to some parts of the nutcracker and then painted over the top - having been inspired by the children's book by Rona Rupert "All Everest's Birds" which uses newspapers to create many of the images.
